URGENT UPDATE: Frostburg State University’s Mountain City Traditional Arts is set to host the highly anticipated event “An Irish Christmas” featuring renowned musicians John Doyle and Cathie Ryan on Thursday, December 18, at 7 p.m. The performance will take place at 25 E. Main St., Frostburg, and is open to the public with a suggested donation of $15.
This festive concert promises to be a captivating evening filled with music, stories, and the joyful spirit of Irish Christmas traditions. Doyle and Ryan, both celebrated figures in the Irish music scene, have collaborated extensively over their careers, creating a unique blend of traditional and contemporary Irish music.
John Doyle, a powerhouse guitarist, began his professional journey at the young age of sixteen. He gained fame with the acclaimed group Solas, known for its innovative arrangements and energetic performances. Doyle’s mastery of rhythm and style has made him a sought-after collaborator, performing with numerous prominent artists and captivating audiences worldwide.
Cathie Ryan, recognized for her ethereal voice, brings over thirty-five years of experience to the stage.
