URGENT UPDATE: Jeanette Brinkman, a beloved member of the Charles City community, passed away on November 6, 2025, at the age of 70. Her death marks a significant loss for family and friends who cherished her resilient spirit and unwavering faith.
The funeral service for Jeanette will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Floyd, Iowa. Pastor Paul Phillips will officiate the ceremony, followed by a burial at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene, Iowa.
Visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City and will continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. This is a crucial opportunity for community members to pay their respects and celebrate her life.
Jeanette was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at an early age and faced numerous health challenges throughout her life, including losing her sight at 22. Despite these obstacles, she demonstrated remarkable bravery and faith, undergoing three organ transplants while remaining a beacon of positivity for those around her.
Born on November 10, 1954, in Charles City, Jeanette was the daughter of Glen and Virginia (Howe) Brinkman. She worked alongside her family on their dairy farm and formed deep connections within her community, particularly through her church, where she nurtured lifelong friendships.
Jeanette’s love for life was evident as she enjoyed time with family and friends, whether it was sharing stories over coffee or discussing her passion for cats. She had a vibrant personality, loved to shop for stylish clothes, and cherished her fond memories of listening to the Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson.
She is survived by her two brothers, Dennis and Douglas Brinkman, her twin sister, Jeanine Krueger, and several nieces and nephews, along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Her caregivers, Bonnie Holtz and Lois Meyer, provided invaluable support throughout her life, showcasing the strong bonds she cultivated with those around her.
