BREAKING: Fright Fest has officially kicked off at Six Flags Over Texas, introducing an array of new spine-tingling attractions and haunted mazes that promise to elevate the Halloween experience to a chilling new level. Running from September 12 to November 2, this year’s event features exclusive mazes inspired by some of the most iconic horror films, including The Strangers, The Conjuring Universe, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
As darkness falls at 6 p.m., the park transforms into a haunting landscape filled with terrifying characters, live entertainment, and five interactive scare zones designed to thrill even the bravest souls. The new maze, The Strangers: No Escape, invites guests to confront masked figures lurking in the shadows, creating an unnerving experience that will leave participants breathless.
This year’s Fright Fest is not just for horror enthusiasts; family-friendly activities are also on the agenda. Young guests can enjoy a Trick-or-Treat Trail, a children’s costume contest, and a lively Skelebration Dance Party, ensuring that everyone has a chance to partake in the Halloween festivities.
Among the six haunted mazes available, SAW: Legacy of Terror and Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) will plunge guests into the depths of these gripping narratives, confronting them with Jigsaw’s horrific traps and Leatherface’s relentless pursuit. Notably, the Conjuring Universe maze takes participants into a cursed artifact museum, where they must survive the wrath of supernatural forces.
“Fright Fest is our most beloved event, and this year promises to be the most thrilling yet,” said a Six Flags spokesperson. “With new attractions and family-friendly activities, we’re making sure everyone gets to enjoy the spooky season.”
The five newly introduced scare zones include the eerie Foresaken Fairgrounds, where twisted clowns reign, and Plague, featuring masked doctors ready to deliver their final cure. As darkness falls, guests will encounter characters in these zones starting at 7 p.m..
For those looking to experience every haunted attraction, the Haunted Attraction Pass offers unlimited access to all mazes throughout the night, while the All Season Haunted Attractions Pass grants unlimited access for the entire 2025 season.
Live entertainment also takes center stage, with the Toxicity circus performance highlighting skilled acrobats in a gravity-defying show. Meanwhile, the park will host its annual Oktoberfest, featuring German-inspired food, seasonal brews, and lively music every weekend during the event.
Guests are reminded that masks and adult costumes are not permitted, and children under 10 can wear costumes, though masks must be removed after 6 p.m.. With a chaperone policy in effect for guests 17 and under, safety remains a priority.
