BREAKING: Former ‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ star Jen Shah is set to be released early from prison this morning, October 11, 2023. Shah, who was originally sentenced to six and a half years for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, will walk free from FPC Bryan, a minimum-security federal prison camp in Texas.
Sources confirm that Shah’s release comes more than three years ahead of her scheduled date of August 30, 2026. Her sentence was reduced twice due to good behavior during her time in custody. This development marks a significant shift in Shah’s legal journey, which began with a guilty plea and a hefty $6.5 million forfeiture ordered by the court.
Shah, a mother of two, gained fame on Bravo’s reality series but faced serious allegations of running a nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme that targeted vulnerable elderly victims. At her sentencing on January 6, 2023, she promised to repay her victims, stating, “I plan that, when I am out of prison, to use my platform and raise the money that way. I hope that I’m able to work again.”
Despite her early release, Andy Cohen, the executive producer of the Real Housewives franchise, confirmed that Shah will not return to the show. “She’s not coming back to ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.’ I would assume she’ll end up on a reality show of some kind, but it won’t be anything that I’m working on,” he stated.
As Shah prepares for life beyond bars, her next steps remain uncertain. The reality star has hinted at leveraging her public platform for future endeavors, but the road ahead is likely to be challenging. With her past looming large, the question of how she will navigate her post-prison life remains to be seen.
Stay tuned for updates as Shah’s story continues to unfold.
