UPDATE: A heartwarming video of a disabled dog playing at a park has taken the internet by storm, amassing over 892,000 views on TikTok in just hours. Nicole Morgan, 23, from Salem, Massachusetts, shared a touching clip of her 9-year-old German shepherd, Sasha, who uses a wheelchair, joyfully interacting with a new canine companion.
The video captures a precious moment when Sasha, diagnosed in February 2025 with degenerative myelopathy, plays alongside a friendly Husky. Viewers have been moved by the sight, leading to 269,700 likes and countless emotional comments about the bond between dogs.
Morgan expressed her joy, stating, “We talked to the woman and the dogs were playing alongside each other. The Husky was extremely patient and sweet to Sasha. It’s like she knew Sasha is disabled.” The clip showcases not only Sasha’s spirited nature but also the kindness of other dogs, highlighting a universal theme of empathy.
Sasha’s condition, which resembles Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in humans, progresses slowly, leading to paralysis in older canines. Currently, there is no cure. Morgan and her family focus on supportive care—using harnesses, physical therapy, and a wheelchair—to ensure Sasha enjoys a good quality of life.
In an overlay text on the video, Morgan noted, “Crying bc [because] this baby was so sweet trying to play with my disabled dog.” Her heartfelt caption, “My heart,” resonates deeply with viewers. The emotional response has sparked a wave of shared experiences from TikTok users, with many recounting their own stories of compassionate dogs.
One user shared, “My older dog went to the dog park and calmly walked up to another dog and the guy started crying and said ‘nobody has wanted to play with her for years because she’s blind.’ They played for over an hour.” Another added, “It would be a Husky, truly the sweetest dogs on the planet.”
This viral moment is more than just a video; it reflects the power of connection and love in the animal kingdom. As the video continues to circulate, it serves as a reminder of the compassion that pets can show each other, regardless of their differences.
Morgan encourages others to share their own adorable pet moments. “Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share? Send them to [email protected] with some details about your best friend and they could appear in our Pet of the Week lineup.”
