Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 with Enhanced Features

Samsung has officially launched its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, introducing significant enhancements in display size, design, and integrated technology. The announcement was made today, revealing that the new devices are now available for pre-order, with shipping set to begin on July 25, 2023.

The flagship Galaxy Z Fold7 boasts an ultra-thin design featuring a wider cover display measuring 6.5 inches and an 8.0-inch main screen, both capable of a 120 Hz refresh rate. Powering this device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which can be configured with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. The camera setup includes two 10MP cameras on the cover and front displays, complemented by a robust triple camera system on the back. This system features a 200MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. Samsung has highlighted that its next-generation ProVisual Engine processes images more rapidly and enhances detail.

Innovative Features and Pricing

The Galaxy Z Fold7 runs on Samsung’s new One UI 8, designed to improve multitasking capabilities. According to the company, this software integrates intelligent features that adapt to user interactions, allowing for a seamless experience. Notably, the device incorporates AI enhancements powered by Google Gemini, including features like Circle to Search and Gemini Live, which aids users in identifying objects through camera and screen sharing functionalities. The starting price for the Galaxy Z Fold7 is set at $1,999.99.

In addition to the Fold7, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Flip7, which is described as the company’s thinnest and most durable clamshell phone to date. The Flip7 features a larger 4.1-inch edge-to-edge cover screen and a 6.9-inch main display, both with a 120Hz refresh rate. Unlike its counterpart, the Flip7 is powered by the Exynos 2500 chip, and it offers configurations of up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The device weighs only 188 grams and measures just 13.7mm when folded, making it exceptionally portable. The camera system includes a 10MP front camera and a dual camera setup on the rear with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 50MP wide-angle camera. The Galaxy Z Flip7 is priced starting at $1,099.99.

Smartwatch Launches and New Features

Samsung also revealed two new smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic. The Galaxy Watch8 features a design similar to the previous Galaxy Watch Ultra but is now 11% thinner. It offers a 50% brighter display with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and a larger battery. Enhanced health tracking is provided by a new BioActive Sensor that delivers more accurate insights. The software updates include new features such as Bedtime Guidance and Vascular Load, allowing users to engage with Google’s Gemini AI hands-free.

The Galaxy Watch8 is available in 44mm and 40mm sizes and comes in Graphite or Silver. The Galaxy Watch8 Classic, which measures 46mm, features a rotating bezel and is available in Black and White. Prices for the Galaxy Watch8 start at $349.99, while the Classic version is priced at $499.99.

With these new products, Samsung continues to push the boundaries of mobile technology, combining innovative design with advanced features to cater to the evolving needs of consumers.
