Wallkill High School’s volleyball team continued its impressive streak by defeating Kingston High School in a decisive match on September 15, 2023. The Panthers secured a clean sweep, winning the match with scores of 25-18, 25-23, and 25-21, bringing their season record to an undefeated 5-0.
The standout players for Wallkill included Bella Martinez, who contributed significantly with three kills, 11 assists, three digs, and two aces. Ava O’Flaherty also made an impact, achieving seven kills and two aces. Kimmy Merrill showcased her skills with 10 assists, three digs, and four aces, while Aubrianna Bremer added three kills and three blocks. Emma LaRocco was particularly formidable at the net, recording four kills and eight blocks.
In contrast, the Kingston Tigers, who now hold a record of 2-3, had notable performances from players such as Abby Crantz, who contributed one service point and three digs. Melody Blackmon was instrumental with two assists, two aces, six service points, and nine digs. Amelia Blazek rounded out the contributions with one ace, four service points, and eight digs.
Looking ahead, the Kingston Tigers are set to face Monroe-Woodbury on September 17, 2023, at 18:00. Meanwhile, the Wallkill Panthers will also meet Monroe-Woodbury in a match on September 16 before participating in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League contest against Roosevelt on September 18 at 17:45.
This latest victory for Wallkill solidifies their position as a strong contender in the league, showcasing a combination of skill and teamwork that could carry them further into the season.
