Upcoming Festivals and Picnics
The Bear Creek Township Volunteer Hose Company will host its annual picnic on August 2 from 14:00 to 19:00 at the hose company grounds located at 3500 Bear Creek Blvd. Attendees can look forward to live entertainment, games, a basket raffle, and a chicken barbecue, with food and drinks available for all.
On the same weekend, the St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church will hold a flea market and food fest on August 2 and August 3 from 09:00 to 15:00. Located at 205 N. Main St., Pittston, the event will feature an indoor flea market alongside traditional foods such as holupki (stuffed cabbage rolls), homemade pierogi, and ziti dinner available for takeout on Sunday. Dinner tickets are priced at $13 for adults and $8 for children.
Another highlight is the St. John the Baptist Church Annual Parish Family Picnic, which will take place from August 8 to August 10 at 126 Nesbitt St., Larksville. The event promises a variety of homemade foods, including over 40,000 pierogi and a range of live music performances throughout the weekend.
The St. Jude Parish 72nd Annual Picnic in the Grove will run concurrently from August 8 to August 10 at 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and noon to 20:00 on Sunday. Festival-goers can enjoy ethnic foods, live music, and a basket raffle.
