Keshequa Girls’ Teams Achieve Remarkable Success in 2024

In a remarkable display of athletic prowess, the girls’ sports teams at Keshequa Central School District have achieved significant success during the 2024 school year. The Wildcats showcased their talents across multiple disciplines, culminating in a series of championships and deep postseason runs, solidifying their reputation in high school athletics.

Fall Triumph in Soccer

The sports year kicked off in the fall when the Wildcats, entering as the No. 5 seed, clinched the Section V Class D Soccer title. Their impressive performance did not stop there; they advanced to the semifinals of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA), marking a significant milestone for the program.

Winter Success in Basketball

Building on their momentum, the Keshequa girls continued to shine in the winter. They secured the Section V Class C2 Basketball championship, which granted them a spot in the regional competition. This victory contributed to an outstanding year for the Wildcats, reflecting their dedication and teamwork.

Spring Glory in Track and Field

The spring season further highlighted the athletic excellence at Keshequa. The girls’ track and field team earned the Section V Class C4 Outdoor Track and Field championship, showcasing their skills and determination. Additionally, the softball team made a commendable run in the postseason, reaching the final of the Section V Class D competition.

Throughout the year, individual athletes also distinguished themselves, particularly in track and field events. Numerous sectional titles were claimed, with standout performances that underscored the depth of talent within the program. Notably, Alivia Cartwright achieved an individual sectional victory in girls wrestling, adding to the Wildcats’ impressive accolades.

The achievements of the Keshequa girls’ athletic programs during the 2024 school year have not only brought pride to the school but also set a benchmark for future athletes. As the Wildcats continue to build on this success, they embody the spirit of dedication and teamwork that is central to high school sports.
