DALLAS — In a decisive performance, the Misericordia Cougars triumphed over Moravian College with a commanding 4-0 victory in field hockey on March 15, 2024. After a scoreless first quarter, the Cougars launched a strong offensive, scoring four unanswered goals to secure their eighth win of the season, bringing their record to 8-2.
The scoring began with a goal from Ashley Pitz at 16:45 in the second quarter, marking the Cougars’ first breakthrough of the match. Just before halftime, Ashleigh Steele extended the lead to two goals with an unassisted strike at 29:17.
As the game progressed into the third quarter, Abigail O’Donnell found the back of the net to make it 3-0. The final goal came in the fourth quarter from Madison Blauch, who scored with an assist from Emily Ervin, capping off a dominant performance.
In goal, Sarah Bogina was instrumental in the Cougars’ success, making three crucial saves to maintain the clean sheet. The match showcased Misericordia’s offensive strength and defensive resilience, solidifying their position in the league.
Lycoming Claims Victory Over King’s College
In another matchup on the same night, Lycoming College faced King’s College at McCarthy Stadium, emerging victorious with a score of 3-0. The game saw Tayah Bauer score the first goal at 28:53 of the second quarter, setting the tone for Lycoming’s performance.
