Photographer Jenny Sparks of the Reporter-Herald received second place in the best news photo category at the Colorado Press Association contest. Her award-winning image captured students at Garfield Elementary School during the viewing of the 2024 solar eclipse. Sharon Dunn claimed second place for her in-depth exploration of legal issues surrounding Future Legends.
