Evelyn Marie (Dammer) Halvorson, aged 81, passed away on October 22, 2025, in Duluth, Minnesota, after a lifetime defined by her generosity and kindness. Known for her immense heart and unwavering spirit, Evelyn leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories among her family and friends.
Born to Melvin and Viola Dammer, she was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister. Evelyn is survived by her devoted husband, David Halvorson Jr., with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. Together, they raised a family that includes their son, Ernest “Ernie” Halvorson, and daughters Kimberly Neigum, Brenda Gamache, and Bonnie Lou Goebel.
Evelyn’s family continues to grow with the addition of her grandchildren, including Emma and Aaron Neigum. Her siblings, Edward, Merlyn, Harvey, Charlie, Wesley, and Susie, also survive her, highlighting the close-knit family ties that were integral to her life.
Visitation and Celebration of Life
A visitation will take place on November 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Sunrise Funeral Home, located at 4798 Miller Trunk Highway. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life is scheduled for 12:00 PM, with a reception to follow.
