PORT ST. LUCIE — A man and his wife, both 89, who disappeared on a road trip have been found by police in Illinois, according to Port St. Lucie police.
The Port St. Lucie Police Department said Paul and Yvonne Voight, of the 2200 block of Southeast Mariola Avenue, last were seen locally at 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
They were traveling to Wisconsin, but police reported that based on an investigation, they had been driving between Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.
The Voights suffer from cognitive impairment, and Yvonne Voight is dependent on numerous medications, police said.
Port St. Lucie police said they were found by police in Lake Forest, Illinois, which is about 35 miles north of Chicago.
The Voights were taken to a hospital and are expected to be OK.
