Asia-Pacific IT spending to fall 1.3% in 2020 – IDC

IT spending in the Asia-Pacific (excluding Japan – APeJ) is now expected to drop by 1.3 percent in 2020 as Covid-19 continues to challenge markets, according to IDC. This compares to a 0.8 percent decline forecast by IDC in March. 

IT spending in the APeJ region grew by 3.6 percent in 2019, and is expected to return to growth (+11.3%) in 2021. Telecom spending in the region is expected to fall by 0.3 percent in 2020, with total ICT spending falling by 0.6 percent.
