Community Events to Engage Local Residents This November

Residents of the Wyoming Valley and surrounding areas can look forward to a variety of community events throughout November 2025. These gatherings aim to promote local engagement while supporting charitable causes.

Bowling, Craft Fairs, and Holiday Celebrations

Individuals and teams are encouraged to participate for a fee of $20, which includes two hours of bowling and refreshments. Interested parties can register by contacting Mary Loughlin at 570-592-1150 or via email at [email protected].

On December 7, Wilkes University will host the 14th annual Wigilia, a traditional Polish Christmas celebration featuring traditional foods and carols. Scheduled for 13:00 at the Amber Palace, 228 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, the event has a participation fee of $35. Attendees are asked to RSVP by November 26 by calling Barbara at 570-542-7447.

The Back Mountain Craft Fair will take place from 10:00 to 15:00 on Saturday, November 8, at the Dallas American Legion on Memorial Highway, Dallas. Visitors can enjoy a basket raffle, a bake sale, and a variety of food items for purchase, with proceeds benefiting local veterans.

Charitable Dinners and Community Events

Several community dinners are scheduled throughout the month. The Northmoreland Volunteer Fire Company will host a homemade meatloaf dinner on Saturday, November 15, from 16:00 to 19:00. The meal, priced at $15, includes meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, and dessert. Only 300 meals will be prepared, and tickets can be obtained by calling 570-675-2121.

On November 19, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will offer a labyrinth walk from 15:00 to 18:00. This unique experience allows participants to walk barefoot on the labyrinth while enjoying a meditative atmosphere. No reservations are required, and finger labyrinths will be available for those with disabilities. For more information, contact [email protected] or call 570-675-3859.

In the spirit of the holiday season, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4909 will host a Christmas party on December 6, featuring dinner and live music. The event, requiring an RSVP by December 5, will have a ticket price of $30. Interested individuals should contact Bob Lopata at 570-472-1152.

On November 7, Exeter residents can take advantage of a special discount day at the Kalahari Water Park, where families can enjoy a one-night stay and four waterpark passes for $239. This offer is exclusive to borough residents; those interested should email [email protected] for the discount code.

These events represent just a fraction of the numerous opportunities for community involvement this November. From festive celebrations to charitable dinners, residents are encouraged to participate and support local initiatives.

For those wishing to share community news or events, submissions can be sent to [email protected] at least one week prior to the event for publication consideration.
