Winona Ryder Shares Heartwarming Story About Christopher Walken

In a recent interview with Elle UK, actress Winona Ryder revealed a charming anecdote about keeping the wishbone from a rotisserie chicken given to her by fellow actor Christopher Walken. The two collaborated on the 2014 film Turks & Caicos, directed by David Hare, which featured a stellar cast including Bill Nighy, Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, Rupert Graves, and Dylan Baker.

During the conversation, Ryder recounted her admiration for Walken, explaining that she cherished the chicken carcass for “a weirdly long time, because it came from him.” In a light-hearted reflection, she added, “I still have the wishbone and am trying to make it into a necklace.” This quirky keepsake highlights the fond memories she has from her time working with the acclaimed actor.

Ryder also shared her feelings for another legendary actor, Al Pacino, with whom she worked on the films Simone and Looking for Richard. She described being “absolutely in love” with Pacino during their collaboration, recalling a workshop for Richard III that unexpectedly became a film project.

She fondly remembered how Pacino, who had a passion for coffee, took her to various unique spots across New York City to sample different brews. Their chemistry extended beyond professional boundaries, leading Ryder to confess her feelings for him one evening after he dropped her off at her residence. “Aw, honey, noooo,” was his gentle response, which she shared with a laugh.

Reflecting on the passage of time, Ryder noted the irony of meeting Pacino’s younger girlfriend years later, humorously recalling, “Dude, I’m f—— throwing myself at you.” Despite the missed romantic connection, she fondly reminisced about their occasional poker games.

These stories illustrate Ryder’s candidness about her experiences in Hollywood, revealing the personal connections she formed with her colleagues over the years. Her anecdotes add a relatable touch to her career narrative, showcasing the human side of life in the film industry.
