Austin Music Scene Celebrates Anniversaries and New Releases

Austin’s vibrant music scene is set to light up December with a series of exciting performances, including anniversaries and new releases from both established and emerging artists. Notably, the acclaimed band And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their influential album Worlds Apart on December 6, 2023, at The Far Out Lounge.

On December 5, Riverboat Gamblers will perform at the Mohawk, marking the anniversary of their album To The Confusion Our Enemies. The punk rock lineup includes support from The Marked Men and Magic Rockers of Texas, with tickets priced at $28. Meanwhile, fellow Austin band Grocery Bag will celebrate the release of their new single “Watching TV” at Hotel Vegas on the same day. They will share the stage with Matador Sphere, Midrange Jumper, and Blue Ribbon, with a cover charge of $12.

Upcoming Events and Notable Performances

Following these events, Trail Of Dead will take the stage on December 6 at The Far Out Lounge, joined by Ringo Deathstarr, Whisper, and Banged Out. Tickets for this highly anticipated show are available for $36. The following week, on December 12, Los Coast will host a free concert at C-Boy’s starting at 18:30, making it an excellent option for those looking to enjoy great music without a hefty price tag.

On December 13, energetic punk rockers Gus Baldwin & The Sketch will headline at Chess Club, showcasing their recent album, The Sketch. They will be supported by Cast of Thousands, Bubba Lucky, and Badzy, with ticket prices set at $20.08. Additionally, Radio East will once again host the Holiday Hootenanny on the same day, featuring local acts like J’cuuzi, Club Coma, Fuck Money, and Variety. Tickets for this festive gathering are $46.39.

On December 14, longtime rock band Quiet Company will perform a special Christmas show at Haute Spot. This festive evening will also feature performances by Stella and the Very Messed and various special guests, including Mobley and Emily Wolfe. Tickets are available for prices ranging from $13.95 to $28.11.

As December unfolds, Austin’s music lovers can look forward to a diverse array of performances, celebrating both the past and the present of the city’s dynamic music culture.
