German Manufacturer Invests $3.6 Million in Bluffton Headquarters

A German manufacturer, CS Instruments, has announced plans to establish its North American headquarters in Bluffton, South Carolina. The company will invest $3.6 million to construct an 11,000-square-foot facility that will house office space, a warehouse, and a service and training center. Operations are anticipated to begin in December 2023, and the investment is expected to create 13 new jobs in the region.

Bluffton’s Mayor, Larry Toomer, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “The Town of Bluffton is thrilled to welcome CS Instruments to Bluffton. Their decision to establish their U.S. headquarters here speaks volumes about our community’s appeal for innovative, forward-thinking companies. This investment not only strengthens our local economy but also creates exciting new opportunities for our residents.”

Founded in 2002, CS Instruments specializes in manufacturing measurement technologies for compressed air and industrial gases. The company develops, manufactures, and calibrates all of its products in Germany, with operations extending to 13 countries, including China, France, and South Africa. With a workforce of over 150 employees, the establishment of the U.S. headquarters is expected to enhance product availability and improve customer experience for clients in North America.

In a statement, Martin Zeller, country manager for CS Instruments, emphasized the strategic importance of the new headquarters, saying, “Establishing our North American headquarters in Bluffton is a strategic and exciting step forward for CS Instruments. The region’s strong business climate, skilled workforce, and exceptional quality of life make it an ideal home for our growing team.”

The construction of the new facility on Pinellas Drive marks a significant step for both CS Instruments and the Bluffton community, creating an opportunity for economic growth and enhanced regional collaboration in the field of measurement technology.
