The victory confirms Old Tappan’s advancement to the semifinals, where they will face top-seeded Ramsey, currently ranked No. 3 in the NJ.com Top 20, on Sunday, October 26 in River Dell. This matchup is expected to be a significant test for Old Tappan, who now boasts a record of 12-2.
Pothos’ late heroics came after Ridgewood’s Lilli Granert had tied the game with a goal just 11 minutes earlier. Old Tappan initially took the lead with a first-half goal from Nina Caunedo.
