UPDATE: The Community Christian School Eagles soared to a decisive 4-1 victory against St. Cloud Christian on October 10, 2023, propelling their record to 7-9. This urgent win took place during a challenging match marked by cold and rainy conditions in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Senior standout Samuel Mulder delivered an impressive performance, scoring two goals and providing one assist. Juniors Micah Strickland and Jonny Benson each added a goal to secure the Eagles’ triumph in the Minnesota Christian Athletic Conference matchup.
“We put in a lot of hard work despite the weather,” said CCS head coach Noah Mulder, reflecting on the team’s determination. The Eagles led the game 2-1 at halftime, showcasing their resilience and teamwork.
St. Cloud Christian’s lone goal came from Micah Schneider, but the Warriors struggled to capitalize, ultimately falling to a 1-15 record. The game saw a total of 20 shots on goal from CCS, while SCC managed 21 shots.
Looking ahead, the Eagles are set to face Maplewood Academy of Hutchinson at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Community Christian School in Willmar. This upcoming match presents an opportunity for the Eagles to continue their momentum and improve their standing.
