Weekend of Flooding Leaves Five Dead in South of France

Five people were killed in the south of France on Sunday, December 1, amid widespread flooding. Of that total, three were aboard a helicopter that crashed on a rescue mission near Marseilles. Also killed was a shepherd in the Var, whose 4×4 was swept away by floodwater, local news reports said. In the same region, the owner of a stables was found dead after he was swept off while checking on his animals.
