BLENDON TWP. — One person was injured Saturday in a two-car crash in Blendon Township.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 72nd Avenue and Tyler Street for a two-car crash. Reports indicated one of the cars had flipped over, and the occupant was injured, and possibly pinned inside.
Investigation showed that an 81-year-old female was driving east on Tyler and did not stop at the stop sign at 72nd Avenue. Her vehicle entered the intersection and struck a southbound vehicle on 72nd. The southbound vehicle, driven by a 62-year-old Illinois woman, overturned in a field on the southeast corner of the intersection.
The Illinois driver was not pinned in, however, she was injured, and taken to the hospital by Life Ambulance. Her injuries are not life threatening.
