Chicago man sentenced to prison for Belvidere gas station robbery

BELVIDERE — A Chicago man was sentenced to 18 years in prison Friday for robbing a gas station in 2017, the Boone County State’s Attorney’s Office said.

Brian Ormond, 20, pleaded guilty to the May 15, 2017, armed robbery at the Speedway gas station, 2091 Crystal Parkway.

Two other men have pleaded guilty to taking part in the robbery.

Ormond was previously sentenced to 15 years in prison for a pair of armed robberies in Kane County. He also faces an armed robbery charge in DuPage County.
