Western Illinois Wind Band to present their Fall Concert

The Western Illinois Wind Band, under the direction of Bernie Potter, will present their Fall Concert on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Avon Grade School All Purpose Room.

AVON — The Western Illinois Wind Band, under the direction of Bernie Potter, will present their Fall Concert on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Avon Grade School All Purpose Room. The public is encouraged to attend and there will be a free will offering taken up during the program.

The Concert Band has been presenting programs in Avon since 2011 and performs a wide variety of music. Musicians from a 60 mile radius gather together each Tuesday to rehearse songs from the master composer and arrangers of the band world. This program consists of marches, show tunes, movie themes, patriotic music, and suites.
