Amazon has reached an agreement to add dozens of Disney movies to its Prime Video streaming service in Latin America, reports Variety. The licensing deal will run from 01 October 2019 but will expire on 30 September 2020 due to Disney’s plans to roll out its Disney Plus VoD service in Latin American territories starting in the first quarter of 2021. As a result, no original series, movies or specials coming to Disney Plus are included in the agreement.
The titles already available on Prime Video in the region include all Toy Story and Pirates of the Caribbean movies, The Lion King plus select Marvel Cinematic Universe films such as Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Thor: The Dark World, Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Subscribers to Amazon Prime Video throughout Latin America will be able to watch the films on smart TVs, connected-TV devices like Fire TV and mobile devices, and can also download them to watch later for no additional cost.
