Two People Shot At Apartment Complex In Unincorporated Des Plaines

Chicago News

CHICAGO (CBS) — SWAT teams surrounded a northwest suburban apartment building overnight, after two people were found shot in the parking lot.

The first call of two people shot in the 1000 block of Linda Lane in unincorporated Des Plaines came in Tuesday night at 9:19 p.m., according to Cook County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Sophia Ansari.

David Drdla, District Chief with the North Maine Fire Protection District says the man and woman were both found in the parking lot with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.

They were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Many residents were not allowed in the building, or even nearby buildings, as they were told to stay outside because of a possible standoff.

According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, there was a report an armed offender possibly was barricaded inside one of the apartments, but a Hostage Barricade and Terrorist team found no one inside.
